6 Obvious Shifts I’ve Noticed in my Mental Health Since I’ve Started to Microdose with Psilocybin

“Microdosing”, which is the regular practice of ingesting small amounts of a psychedelic substance, is quickly becoming more mainstream. There have been various studies proving the benefits of it as it grows more and more popular through the general population.

Since I’ve started microdosing in late 2019/early 2020, I have noticed many different changes happen in my mind. Here are some of those most obvious mental shifts I’ve noticed.

I feel less anxious

Generally I feel less anxious in my day to day and am able to slow down and be more proactive versus reactive, especially when triggering things come up.

I feel less sad and generally more happy in my day to day

I feel much happier waking up everyday. Even if I wake up tired, I have an overwhelming sense of gratitude and peace the moment I open my eyes to the moment I go to bed.

I have more sustainable energy throughout the day

I’m able to buzz through my work uninterrupted and my energy doesn’t dip down in the middle of the afternoon like it used to.

I have more focus and motivation

In general, my ability to focus has naturally improved and I feel motivated to get work done. I used to drag my butt to the gym or procrastinate with my work until the last minute, that hasn't been happening as much in the last year and a half. I feel much more able to focus on the task at hand and rarely feel like I’m being forced to “get more work done”.

I feel more empathetic towards people

I noticed people were much more naturally drawn to talk freely and open up to me. I’m not sure if it's because I was able to be more present in the moment with these people and hold space, but my connection and ability to empathize with others and what they were going through seemed to improve dramatically. This helped improve my personal relationships tremendously.

I feel more connected to nature

I might regret this when I come out saying it but here it goes: I’ve started hugging trees. I kid you not, I feel so drawn and connected to nature and essentially all living things.

My ability to recognize the universal “oneness” has been dramatically amplified once I started to consistently microdose. I have a love and appreciation for all living things in nature like I never experienced in my life. I recognize we are essentially all cut from the same cloth so I want to do my part while I’m here to help preserve this life, respect it and honor it.

Have you had an experience microdosing with psychedelics? If so, I’d love to hear from you!
