When I was a kid my brother and I would go trick-or-treating and fill up our own pillow cases with candy. We would the hoard our candy and eat it over course the next month. This might explain my cavity problem throughout my life!
However, the memories of Halloween are priceless, and eating some candy is part of the fun. Depriving yourself or your kids isn’t the solution. Some candies are just better for you than others. Below I have compiled a list of the top 10 best halloween candies to choose from, and the to absolute worst candies to eat.

The idea is that you want to avoid candy that is pure sugar with zero substance. The chocolate bars are usually the better bet since you have the opportunity to get some fats in along with the sugar. When you eat pure sugar alone, it spikes your glucose levels resulting in a bigger “sugar rush” ultimately leading to an worse “crash.”
Halloween comes around 1x a year so if you keep it all in moderation you and your kids will survive! I would avoid the hoarding of the candy post holiday and maybe encourage a community bowl in the kitchen to help keep the damage to all waistlines to a minimal.
